16.2. Registry

In Chapter 11, we discussed HP’s registry offering, E-services Village (ESV). ESV is being migrated (as is the rest of the technology) to a standards-based directory. In Chapter 14, UDDI was introduced as a new registry platform to facilitate web service registration and discovery. HP announced in mid-2001 that it would be one of four UDDI Public registry operators.
