14.1. E-Speak Engine

The e-Speak engine provides an infrastructure for doing object- and message-based distributed computing within a company’s intranet, as well as between enterprises over the Internet. Recall from Chapter 2 that the e-Speak engine provides a logical machine, a resource paradigm, and interaction mechanisms. Many of these services are available in different forms in other distributed computing middleware products. This section briefly discusses other distributed computing middleware technologies with features similar to those of the e-Speak engine.
