13.1. Service Invocation

E-Speak services are primarily Internet- and intranet-accessible distributed components, called resources, that can be invoked in a secure manner from any e-Speak registered client. The focus of this book has been on how to develop, deploy, and invoke e-Speak-based e-services. The key point to note is that e-Speak is required on either side of the interaction in order to provide the secured channel and robust discovery mechanisms. It is precisely in this arena, service invocation, where e-services and web services differ significantly.
