11.4. The Future of Registries
The future of registries is being discussed and thought about by several members of a growing industry consortium. This consortium, Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration of Business for the Web (UDDI for short), includes several technology and business companies. Their desire is to make web services and their usage and discovery a standard business practice. As part of their efforts, they develop specifications that determine how best to provide registries that will facilitate scenarios like those discussed in this chapter.
