News Sites
News sites? Like, for newspapers and other dead tree material? I know, it's hard to believe, but I often find a lot of great stuff via news monitoring. Thanks to Google News Alerts and Yahoo News Alerts, news monitoring doesn't have to be painful or time-intensive.
Start with Google News (http://news.google.com) and run a couple of queries. For the purpose of this chapter let's say I'm interested in butterfly Web sites. Try a test query of the word “butterflies” by itself. Ugh—several thousand results. That won't work. You want to take the Principle of Unique Language and orient your query more toward Web results. A couple of simple queries might accomplish that. Let's try:
