What Is perfdump?

perfdump is a “service” function which is built-in to the Netscape Enterprise Server. It can collect various pieces of performance data from the web server internal statistics, and it displays it in ASCII format when a request is issued for it.

The components of the web server which can be monitored with perfdump are:

  • Listen socket status and thread count

  • Keepalive data

  • Server cache data

  • Server DNS cache data
