Working with Radio Buttons

Use radio buttons when you have a short set of mutually exclusive options, or options from which the visitor can select one and only one, as in Figure 68.9. Unlike with checkboxes, multiple options aren't allowed when you use radio buttons.

TIP

You can't uncheck a radio button like you can a checkbox. Therefore, always preselect one option in a list of radio buttons. This way, your visitor must select something—if not the default choice, then another.
