17.4. Custom Usage Reporting
Another service a CDN can offer to a content provider is custom usage reporting. This service allows the content provider to receive a variety of usage reports at various levels of detail. The service also allows the content provider to generate useful statistics based on its usage database. The SiteWise Service from Akamai Technologies is one commercially available example of custom usage reporting.
Similar to watermarking, custom usage reporting is most compelling when offered by a CDN.
