One can argue that cache replacement at a proxy will become more relevant once the proliferation of multimedia makes Web objects much larger. However, given the pace of change of the Web, today's studies of cache policies, based on today's Web behavior, will soon be irrelevant, because all studies depend heavily on the workload characteristics.
