9.6. Summary

Table 9.4 summarizes qualitative comparisons between the various cooperation models we have considered. We are not aware of studies that quantify the involved tradeoffs: various approaches have been compared to broadcast queries but not to each other. None of the methods marked with the asterisks address the pruning problem as proposed (and, to the best of our knowledge, implemented) by their authors, so the actual geographical scalability of all methods is low. High geographical scalability indicates that the method allows the cache to implement effective pruning.
