Air quality equipment and systems for waste to energy (WTE) conversion plants

Abstract:

Air quality regulations for municipal waste combustion facilities have a significant cost impact for developers of modern waste to energy (WTE) plants. Modern facilities must use good combustion practices and design, acid gas scrubbing, particulate collection, nitrogen oxide control and technology to minimize the release of toxic air pollutants. Many technology and equipment options are available, but most new WTE facilities use spray dryer adsorbers, fabric filters, selective non-catalytic reactions and activated carbon injection to reduce air pollution emissions below acceptable levels.
