WMLScript Data

The topic of values and data was discussed briefly in Chapter 6. Let’s return to this topic for a moment, as you look at how it comes into effect with WMLScript.

Data is simply information, such as a user’s first and last names, address, phone number, stock quote, bank account number, and so on. Typically, the purpose of an application is to access and use this data for a particular purpose.

Data comes in many shapes and sizes. Some data is made up of numbers; other data is text. And then there’s data that’s a true or false value. In a sense, one could say that there are different data values.
