Defining Links

WML contains two elements for navigation. These navigational elements are

  • Anchors— Provided by the ANCHOR element in WML. Anchors place links around text or images to enable users to select and navigate throughout a WAP application. Anchors were discussed in Chapter 4, “Text Formatting for WML.”

  • Events— Provided by the DO and ONEVENT elements in WML. These enable you to set navigational functionality to a WAP device’s user interface (such as the WAP device’s Option or Accept button). Chapter 4 introduced you briefly to the DO element.

Let’s look at a more in-depth explanation of both of these navigational methods and how to use them within a WAP application.
