Events

WAP devices also have the capability to incorporate other navigational functionality into your applications. Two WML elements are available for creating navigational events besides the ANCHOR element. These other elements are as follows:

  • The DO element— Provides the capability to incorporate functionality into your WAP applications through a WAP device’s user interface (such as the device buttons).

  • The ONEVENT element— Provides the capability to incorporate functionality into your WAP application through intrinsic events (such as internal processing events).

The DO Element (Chapter 5)

This enables developers to associate actions with a user interface mechanism. Like the ANCHOR element, the DO event must be associated with a task.
