A Waxy Build-Up

A book on Vue would not be complete without an exploration of MetaBlobs, those funny sounding entities that are fantastic for creating complex organic shapes. When animated, they can be used for literally anything from boiling liquids to rivers and streams (see the next section of this chapter). Right now, you will work with MetaBlobs and SSS to create a wax-like shape beginning to melt in the sun.

  1. To begin, create a new scene and add a Cylinder object. Change its dimensions to

    • X: 2.194m

    • Y: 6.0431m

    • Z: 2.194m

    Position it at the following coordinates:

    • X: 19.7cm

    • Y: 3.0215m

    • Z: –3.497m

  2. Add a Sphere object to the scene and place it immediately above and slightly to the side of the cylinder. Then, scale the sphere to

    • X: 1.9779m

    • Y: 1.9779m

    • Z: 1.9779m ...
