Scatter and Replicate—Simulating Particle Systems

Vue is not set up to do many of the things 3D modeling programs do. It does not have particle systems, for instance. But there are ways that you can simulate them in Vue. In this section, you will learn two different methods—one that is useful in animation and one for still images. The animation method, of course, can also be used for stills—all you have to do is scrub to the frame you want and render it—but that type of particle system simulation is much more fun when it moves. First, let’s explore how to set up for a still image.
