Variations on the Lighting Theme

Now that you have explored spectral atmospheres and the way to control the overall lighting of an interior scene, there are still a couple of things that need to be discussed. One is a way of adding light to a scene that doesn’t involve spot lights or light panels, and the other is through the use of photographs. This section is going to look at both of these scene-enhancement techniques.

Lighting a Scene Without Using Actual Lights

The first lighting method to look at is using the Convert to Area Light command. This will turn any object, or any portion of an object, into a light-transmitting object. This is great for adding realistic effects to your interior scenes, or even for more supernatural endeavors.
