The Graphical User Interface (GUI) is popularly used to configure many network elements and is useful for both element provisioning and network management. The individual router and switch vendors normally provide element management framework with each device, and some provide network management software with GUI that is capable of network discovery of various vendor devices as well as configuration and monitoring.
