With VoIP available on all hardwired networks (broadband and dedicated lines), you might guess that VoIP could not possibly be available in any other form. Guess again! Wireless networking not only supports VoIP but embraces it completely. This is made evident by the extent to which the wireless infrastructure provides access to each of the CSIs detailed in Chapter 4.
This chapter discusses the effect of wireless networking on VoIP, and vice-versa. Because the wireless CSI (introduced in Chapter 4) is the newest of the five CSIs and the one undergoing the most change these days, it’s easy to get confused about what it provides.
