James F. Durkin has been working in the industry with voice and data technologies for over 13 years. Jim graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering. Jim worked for Hitachi Telecom and for Scientific Research Corporation as a systems engineer, designing and supporting multiservice networks and network management systems. He was a principal representative for the following standards organizations: ANSI T1S1, Network Management Forum, and ATM Forum. Jim also worked for Rapid Link as a lead network engineer designing and implementing an international VoIP network that provided wholesale and retail VoIP services.
