Certificates play an important role in the security of any vCenter implementation and this extends to other applications and components such as vShield Manager. The configuration tools in the vShield Manager web console allows for the request and import of standard X.509 certificates generated by an internal or public certificate authority.

Getting ready

In order to proceed, we require access to vShield Web Console. This client can be run on any modern Windows or Mac desktop operating system or server operating system.

Note

vShield Web Console requires Adobe Flash, which is not supported on Linux operating systems at this time.
