VMware Integrated OpenStack (VIO)
Customers have the choice to build their cloud environments with a fully integrated VMware stack or with open source frameworks such as OpenStack.
VMware has opened connections to serve as the basis for building customized cloud environments, including open source clouds. OpenStack based clouds are only as good as the underlying components that power them, and VMware has made vSphere not only compatible, but optimized for OpenStack through core integrations in a product offering called VMware Integrated OpenStack. VMware Integrated OpenStack is an add-on package that enables organizations to rapidly deploy OpenStack on VMware technologies. It supports the full vSphere portfolio, including:
