Summary

In this chapter, we covered implementation and configuration of VSAN with vSphere. We learnt what VSAN is, and how it is implemented and configured in a vSphere environment. VSAN is not an external appliance but a part of vSphere, and is very scalable as well. It can be enabled/disabled just like HA/DRS cluster. We also learnt how to deploy and change a VM with storage policies and failure resilience with VSAN.

The next chapter will enable us to perform complex advanced operations with virtual machines. It will feature a few of the very important functionalities offered by vSphere such as vMotion, Storage vMotion, and snapshot management.
