The vsan.vm_object_info command
While you can see a VM's object distribution throughout the VSAN cluster by examining the Manage VM Storage Policies view in the vSphere Web Client, you can get more information about a VM's distribution and usage by examining the RVC command.
Getting ready
You should be logged in to RVC as a vCenter Administrator.
How to do it…
- As we are asking for information about a VM running on VSAN, the command will be executed against the
VM
level in RVC. - Type
vsan.vm_object_info /<vCenter>/<Datacenter>/computers/<Cluster>/resourcePool/vms/<VM>
and strike the Enter key:Note
The output about only the namespace object (VM Home Directory) ...
