Chapter 3B – VSAN Default Storage Policy

If you choose not to apply any storage policies to your VM or use a deployment mechanism that is not storage-policy-aware (such as some third-party tools or the legacy vSphere Client), those VMs will receive the VSAN default policy. The VSAN default storage policy has the following characteristics:

1 failure to tolerate
1 disk stripe per object
0 percent object space reservation
0 percent flash read cache reservation
No force provisioning
