Setting up and using vSphere Syslog Collector
A Syslog server centralizes logging and can be used for further analysis.

You need the vSphere install DVD and a Windows VM to install it on.

Installing VMware Syslog server
To install the VMware Syslog server, perform the following steps:
- Insert the vSphere 5.1 installation DVD.
- Click on VMware vSphere Syslog Collector.
- Follow the installation instructions and choose the path where the Syslog data will be stored:
