How to do it...

The following steps detail how to assign a segment ID for universal objects and how to create a universal transport zone:

Log into the vSphere web client.
Navigate to Networking & Security | Installation | Logical Network Preparation.
Ensure the NSX Manager selected is Primary:

Select Segment ID and click Edit:

For the Universal Segment ID pool, enter the unique range of 10000-10999 and click OK:
