The following are typical issues you may face when configuring VXLAN:

Incorrect VTEP VMKNic teaming policy
Incorrect VLAN ID for VTEP
Incomplete IP address for VTEP
DHCP is selected for the VTEP VMKNic IP addressing but the DHCP server is not available or is unreachable
VXLAN was installed on the ESXi host but not cleaned up properly and requires a host reboot
