How to do it...

The following steps detail how to create a universal logical switch:

  1. Log into the vSphere web client,
  2. Navigate to Networking & Security | Logical Switches.
  3. Ensure the NSX Manager selected is Primary.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Type the Name as Universal-Web-Logical-Switch.
  6. Click Change on Transport Zone.
  7. Select Universal-Transport-Zone and click OK.
  1. Ensure Replication mode is set to Unicast to match the replication mode of the previously created Universal-Transport-Zone and click OK:
  1. Repeat for the following universal logical switches:
    • Universal-App-Logical-Switch
    • Universal-DB-Logical-Switch
