How to do it...

The following steps detail how to configure the DNS relay on the ESG:

  1. Log in to the vSphere web client via a web browser.
  2. Navigate to Networking & Security.
  3. Select NSX Edges and select the newly-created edge: Chapter5.
  4. Under the Chapter5 configuration, navigate to Manage | Settings | Configuration.
  5. Click Change in the DNS Configuration menu pane:
  1. Tick Enable DNS service.
  2. Enter at least one DNS server into the configuration pane; in this example, we will use Google DNS servers.
  3. Leave the Cache Size as the default 16 MB.

  1. Tick Enable Logging and set Log level to Info:
  1. Click OK to publish the changes.
