This book and these lessons in leadership were inspired by a seventeen-year journey around the world and by the women we've worked with along the way who have touched our lives and shaped the work of Vital Voices. What we learned from them made Vital Voices a better organization; better able to support and stand behind other women around the world. Our goal with this book is to share those lessons as widely as we can, in the hopes that others who aspire to make a difference will draw inspiration, guidance, and determination from the voices, stories, and achievements of the women we have known.
