DIGITAL HAIR AND FUR

Digital humans, animals, and imaginary creatures are increasingly being incorporated into motion pictures. To make them believable, many of these characters need persuasive hair or fur. Because digital characters can appear in both live-action and computer-animated movies, a wide variety of looks are possible, ranging from photorealistic to cartoony. In this section, some insight is given into what a digital hair/fur system should accomplish, how it is used in production, and what some of the issues and challenges are in modeling, animating, and rendering hair and fur.
