As the founder and CEO of a visual solutions agency based in New York'Frame Concepts'over the last five years, the author has front-line experience with hundreds of cases, not only in the oversight of the execution of the visual solutions but also in the pre-solution stage, talking to clients about the communication challenges they are suffering.

Moreover, as showcased in the second section of the book, these communication challenges have taken place within every major industry, business profession, and organization type: startups, enterprises, and non-profits. Most of the author's appreciation of clients' communication challenges have come from the 25 years before Frame Concepts on the client side, working as an engineering technologist in the early 80s, a training manager in a direct marketing agency in the 90s, and a host of tech startups in New York's “Silicon Valley” and marketing and communication roles at IBM and Wall Street.
