Part II

Visualization and Exploration of Medical Volume Data

Part II is devoted to the visualization of medical volume data and to basic interactions with them. Visualization algorithms should be fast, and should provide accurate and smooth renditions of the underlying medical image data. We discuss software aspects and GPU programming to realize good trade-offs between these conflicting goals. Image analysis, and in particular, image segmentation results are taken into account, e.g., by selectively visualizing segmented anatomical structures.
