Summary

In this chapter we presented Microsoft's .NET strategy and discussed its makeup and importance relative to various target audiences. We then took a quick look under the hood of .NET. This information helped position the benefits of .NET to our application development. It will also serve as a basis for discussion in the coming chapters.
