Images and Icons

Icons are images that have a standard predefined size. Icons are usually 16 pixels high by 16 pixels wide or 32 pixels high by 32 pixels wide (or more commonly referred to as a small icon and large icon). Icon files usually contain a small version and a large version of the same image to allow applications the option of displaying either size.
