Empty Project

You can also create an Empty Project project. You may want to do this if you are planning on creating a solution that contains many projects. You could first create the empty project, name the solution, and then start adding projects to it.

You could also start with an empty project if you wanted to start out by writing all of the source code yourself. This would not be recommended as you can benefit from choosing one of the other type of projects to get you started faster.
