Introducing Universal Windows Apps

As you know, operating systems for mobile devices allow you to download applications from a virtual marketplace, typically referred to as a store. In the past, Windows Phone and Windows 8 had two different stores, which presented a huge limitation: If a paid app was available to both Windows Phone and Windows 8, a user had to pay twice to have same application on two different devices. With Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1, Microsoft made an important step forward: It unified the Windows Phone Store and the Windows Store into one store, called the Windows Store, providing users a way to pay for an app once and use it on all devices running the aforementioned operating systems.
