Creating a Sample Portable Library

What this Section Assumes About you

The sample demonstrated in this section assumes you already have experience with either WPF or Windows Store apps (or both), and the reason is that this section explains concepts such as the MVVM pattern that requires existing knowledge of how the data-binding works in XAML code, of what a command is in those technologies, and knowledge of other concepts specific to WPF and Windows 8.1 that it is not possible to summarize in a short chapter. Part V, “Building Windows Desktop Applications,” provides guidance about WPF, so turn there if you first want to learn more about this particular platform.
