Multi-targeting

In Visual Studio 2015, as in other recent versions, you can choose which version of the .NET Framework an application targets. This can be useful if you plan to develop applications with high compatibility levels but still want to take advantage of the new features of the IDE and some new language features that do not require assemblies from the higher version. You can choose from the following:

Image .NET Framework 4.6 (the default)

Image .NET Framework 4.5.1

.NET Framework 4.5

.NET Framework 4.0

.NET Framework 3.5

.NET Framework 3.0
