Differences Between .NET 4.6 and 4.5
The .NET Framework 4.6 is an in-place update for .NET Framework 4.0, 4.5, 4.5.1, and 4.5.2. If you try to install the .NET Framework 4.6 on a machine that already has .NET 4.5 installed, you will simply overwrite that version in the same directory and add new assemblies specific to the new version. As a result, applications that you created with Visual Studio 2010 (including the Express editions), Visual Studio 2012, and Visual Studio 2013 will still run with no problems, but they will not take advantage of the new version’s features.
