4.1 Camera and Photographic Exposure
The term camera exposure refers to the combination of shutter speed and f-number used to expose film in a camera, such as 1/60 sec. and f/11. The term photographic exposure refers to the quantity of light received in a unit area of photographic film or paper, calculated by multiplying the illuminance of the light falling on a small area of the film or paper by the exposure time, such as 30 me (meter-candles) × 1/30 sec. = 1 mcs (meter-candle-second).
