Introduction

We firmly believe that the best platform in the world for creating video is the Mac. Why? It’s a combination of things. But it really comes down to powerful hardware and a great selection of tools.

We’ve used Apple computers and many of the tools covered in this book from the very beginning. We remember when Photoshop was first introduced, and we were there using After Effects to create animations the size of postage stamps. We embraced Final Cut Pro when it first shipped (we were so ready to try something other than Avid). We loved it so much, we both became certified instructors so we could teach others.
