Writing this book has been a learning experience in so many ways. I learned that balancing writing with work, family, and friends is nearly impossible. I also learned that attention to detail can consume a rather large amount of time. Speaking with someone about a virtualization topic is one thing, but putting words on a page about the same topic is a very different experience. Most important, I learned a lot about vSphere 5 in writing this book that I did not previously know. I took and passed the VCP511 BETA exam in July 2011, shortly before work on this book began.
