Plant utilities can be defined as those services that are distributed throughout the plant and are either consumed in the process or utilized in its support. Some of the more common plant utilities include water (potable, river, cooling, chilled), chilled brine, chilled glycol, air (compressed), industrial gases (nitrogen, oxygen, and the like), and steam.
