Part I. SVG on the Web
Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) are drawings and diagrams defined using an open standard of human-readable XML code. SVG can be used in print publishing and even in technical drawings. However, SVG’s true potential resides in the web browser. SVG was designed to work with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, the core languages used to describe, style, and manipulate content on the web.
The following chapters look at SVG as a whole, focusing on how it is created and used on the web, and how it intersects and overlaps other web standards.
