In the beginning, OSBI remained an area outside of mainstream BI.1 Companies adopting BI within the realm of OS were mainly those familiar with OS methodology and practices and incorporated these frameworks within their IT platforms. In most cases, adoption was driven from IT departments or within niche industries looking at solutions with lower price points. The comfort and knowledge of BI practices more broadly remained small at best, meaning that many organizations were limited in their ability to get the most out of the OSBI technologies available.
