Syncing Music (and Other Files) to a Portable Audio Player
Windows Media Player not only manages the music stored on your computer's hard drive, it also helps you manage all the music (and videos and pictures) you have stored on your portable music player. With WMP 11, you use the Sync tab to transfer new items to your music player.
WMP 11 should be compatible with most portable media devices on the market today, with the notable exception of the Apple iPod family. To ensure optimal compatibility, look for devices that sport the Windows Media PlaysForSure logo (shown in Figure 39).
