Charts and diagrams can convey complex information in a small space, while making a document more attractive. This chapter introduces Word’s built-in charting and diagramming features, and shows you how to build and modify these kinds of graphics.

Even though you can say and do a lot with text, words alone aren’t always the best way to present certain kinds of information. It can take a lot of words to describe the sales results of several business units over a period of time, for example, or to explain a company’s workflow process.
