Conclusion
In this chapter, we have looked at a lot of different aspects of the OS X Web server. Lion server is a great Apache server, capable of serving up large, extremely complex and powerful sites. Apache can be clustered in ways that allow administrators to scale servers up into environments. So that mini Server you may be running can scale with you if you so choose.
We also looked at the more common sites people tend to use these days. This includes the internal wiki and blog services that OS X server is capable of providing. While we looked at editing minor graphical elements, with the wiki and blog services, most are going to simply stick with what Apple has designed on our behalf. After all, theyâre probably known for design more than we are.
Now that we have a functional web server, we can build other functional or media intensive tools into the playground. In Chapter 6, we will take a look at a service that is easy to manage but complicated due to spam: Mail.
